World and European Command & Conquer™ Champion Sean 'Apollo' Clark speaks to battlecast and gives us his thoughts on Command & Conquer™ Red Alert™ 3.

We had the opportunity to ask Apollo for his thoughts on Red Alert 3 and you can check out what he had to say below.

Apollo on Red Alert 3.

Red Alert 3 features a slower more leveled out pace compared to Command and Conquer 3 to stop the fast rushing and base crawling!

All three factions have different build mechanics which adds a great feel to the game as you don't feel like your playing the same way all the time and there is a noticeable difference!

When the Soviets want to place a structure down, there will be visible scaffolding. The Allies have the old style instant pop mechanic and the Empire will feature the most flexible build system to date in any Command & Conquer game! The empire have Dojo Cores, also known as 'Eggs' which are building packed up which are mobile until unpacked where they turn into requested structure.

Red Alert 3 is concentrated on being a naval game just as much as the usual land battles featured in every other Command & Conquer game. If you don't use the naval features of the game, you are hindering yourself and if you opponent does use the naval options, then you will be at a significant disadvantage! There are oil derricks, islands and supplies situated in the water not to mention that every building except the War factories and Barracks' can be build on top of the water!

With great single player missions and stories, a new Human co-op and a promising Multi player experience, I am sure Red Alert 3 will be one of the biggest Command & Conquer games to date!

Apollo's Top Tips.

In Red Alert 3 scouting is extremely vital in your plans to victory as you need to be able to see what your opponent is up to at all times. There are a few great units which help out with this, 'The Burst Drone' is the main scout for the Empire of the Rising Sun which is used to fly around the map using its large site radius. For the 'Allies', we have the 'Dog' which is a fast moving scout and for the 'Soviets' we have an 'Attack Bear'. All three are extremely important to leading your team to glory.

Sea battles are crucial on most given maps, this is because of supplies which are situated in the ocean. Once you run out of supplies on land, you can move out on the water or even have a sea based strategy where you start out on the water and can avoid any land attacks forcing your opponent to come get you!

All units in Red Alert 3 will have secondary functions which make them more fun and will deepen strategy and thinking, for example, one of the Allied tanks will be able to focus its radar signals with other tanks to create an effective scouting unit. Even Ore Collectors are expected to have secondary abilities, which, used at the right time, can give the advantage to one player!

There are oil derricks spread around the map which give instant money when captured by an Engineer and ticking income over a few seconds for the remaining of the game... unless your enemy recaptures of destroys the oil!
